Lots have happened this last week!
Last monday, my district went to the driving range with President Ames and had a good time! Although I totally swung and hit Pres in the rear on my first try… “If you wound me!!” haha he loves me already ;]
Everything is going great with Shelby, except she couldnt make it to church this week and has work for the next couple weeks so her baptism is on the 14th! We have REALLY bonded with her fellowshippers the Eldredges. This family has become our family away from home! We’ve shown this family how fun missionary work is, and before long, all the kids were fighting over who was going to invite other friends over for dinner with the us! Its awesome! We have a lesson with one of their other friends tonight!
So at Stake conference a couple weeks ago we met a lady who gave us her information and she told us to come over! We were like, “Whoa, ok!” So we found shes been talking with the missionaries for about 6 years. We had some lessons with her (Sky), helped her change a tire once, and just really got to be friends with her. Shes dads age and has a 3 year old kid. The kid Chase saw us through the window once and yelled to Sky, “Mom! Jesus is here!!” and that confused sky because for all she knew, chase had no idea why we were always coming by! So now were reffered to as Jesus! whoo! We sat down with her and she wondered why everyone talks so highly of Joseph smith, “Is he like jesus in your minds?” And I explained the importance of JS to her and she was wide eyed and was saying, “ohhhh” a lot! it finally clicked for her after 6 years! we asked her to be baptized and she said she wasnt sure. We talked about it. The next visit we were not going to leave without a date. She said she was in the car listening to a preacher on the radio that talked about Baptism and she took that as her answer! She lives half in Texas and Half in lousiana and goes back and forth from month to month. She was schedule to leave the next tuesday. So we asked her to be baptised THIS last weekend and she accepted, we had someone come down to interview her, and then held a very unorganized baptism haha but it was awesome! I confirmed her the next day in church :]
The reason this email is not on monday is because i got to go to the dallas temple today! and that meant moving our Pday. It was an amazing experience! Bro. Sloan took the 4 of us in his small car. But since the other companions give him a hard time a lot, he told me to sit in front and the 3 biggest guys in back! He actually wouldve put the others in the trunk if he could! haha Its all about getting on peoples good side ;]
Man there is SO much to write and no time! If you wanna know more, write me letters! I can actually expound in those :]
Love you all so much!
