Funnies

Dear Family and Friends,

It has been another humbling experience for me this week. Over the
last couple weeks some of our investigators have dropped us and others we cant get in contact with. As our schedules have been opening up more and more, it has gotten harder to stay positive. This week, we really have been praying for more people to teach. As we have asked with real intent and looked out for those who we could meet with, they have come! And we hope they will continue to.

We started meeting with Andrew (an investigator from the Killeen
Elders) and he has some way to go, but he understands a lot! He has
been loving FHE and Institute.

Sad story: we were singing at this old people center on Friday. An old
man bumped into me while we were singing, fell over onto a lady in a
wheel chair, hit his head on a table, and spilled all of his coffee on
another lady….immediately, the lady who was spilled on (also had
alzheimers) said, “WHY DIDNT YOU CATCH HIM?!” And then, she yelled, “HE PUSHED HIM!!!” And I was like, “Hannah Montana say what?!” (In my head) turns out the guy falls all the time and they told us not to worry. I figure this is what D&C 89 means by ,” because of conspiring men in the last days…” Haha

Had lunch with Sylvie this week. We didnt really know what to expect because she was so forceful with her beliefs last week (she told us she doesnt want to meet with us anymore) but now, she had more of a change of heart and told us that she was in the wrong. She would actually like to start meeting up again soon! We keep praying for her.

We were helping someone pick weeds on Friday and I saw a big one, so I high-kicked it out of the ground! But it was a thorny one so It ended up not feeling too great…just my luck…. :]

Rufus knows it is true. He talks about how he is going to be a member. He has read the For Strength of Youth a dozen times now and it “Haunts his mind” when he is at work telling him to keep his language and thoughts clean! He just needs the final nudge. Comes to church every Sunday.

We knocked on the door of Andrew this week and his Grandma opened up and let us in. She pointed over to the couch where Andrew was passed out. We thought she was going to say it wasnt a good time, but instead she pulled out two chairs, sat them in front if the couch, told us to sit down, and said, “Andrew! Your friends are here!” When his eyes opened, he was surprised (frankly so were we) to have two missionaries sitting in front of him haha it was a funny lesson.

Rosa’s new member lessons are going great! It has all sunken in deeper for her.

After a lesson with Rufus, he sent us home with two 1/3 pound burgers each! Ate them for lunch the next day and just about died. Dont be surprised if Im 400 lbs when I get back.

The Nields are slowly but surely understanding more and more.

Today, a returning member took us to HEB (kinda like walmart) and
turned us loose, “you better fill up that cart! If you dont, Im
sending you back to get more!” We bought all the foods and snacks we wanted! Yes, bluebell and Jr. Mints were in the mix :]

I know that there are hard times to help us grow, and appreciate the
good. Just like Dad says, we are always looking through life with
different glasses. If you are going through a tough time, pray for
strength and tKe a step back and think about it from the greater
perspective.

Thanks for all your support! Love yall most!
